Welcome to Country of Pets. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of our website, products, booking request features, provider application forms, marketplace listings, communication tools, and related services.
By using Country of Pets, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.
1. About Country of Pets
Country of Pets is an online platform that may offer pet products, pet service request forms, provider listings, provider applications, booking coordination, customer-provider communication tools, and related marketplace features.
Country of Pets may help pet owners find independent pet service providers, including but not limited to groomers, dog walkers, pet sitters, trainers, daycare providers, boarding providers, and veterinary or animal health professionals where legally permitted.
Country of Pets is not a veterinary clinic, not an emergency animal hospital, not an animal hospital, and not the employer of independent service providers listed, referred, contacted, or introduced through the platform.
2. Emergency Disclaimer
Country of Pets is not for emergency pet medical situations.
If your pet is seriously injured, having trouble breathing, bleeding, unconscious, poisoned, having seizures, unable to stand, in severe pain, or experiencing any urgent medical condition, you must immediately contact a licensed veterinarian, emergency veterinary hospital, or local animal emergency service.
Do not rely on Country of Pets for emergency diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, surgery, vaccination, or urgent veterinary care.
3. Veterinary Services and Medical Disclaimer
Country of Pets does not provide veterinary diagnosis, medical treatment, prescriptions, surgery, vaccinations, emergency care, or other regulated veterinary medical services.
Only properly licensed veterinarians or legally authorized veterinary professionals may provide regulated veterinary services in their province or territory. Providers are responsible for ensuring that they are properly licensed, certified, insured, and legally permitted to offer the services they list or provide.
Any pet health information available on Country of Pets is for general educational or informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice.
Pet owners should always consult a licensed veterinarian for medical concerns, diagnosis, treatment plans, medication, prescriptions, surgery, vaccination, or emergency care.
4. Platform Role
Country of Pets may act as a marketplace, listing platform, booking request platform, lead-generation platform, communication tool, or administrative coordinator.
Unless clearly stated otherwise, Country of Pets does not directly provide the pet services offered by independent providers. Providers are independent businesses, contractors, professionals, clinics, or individuals.
Country of Pets may review provider applications, request documents, show trust badges, verify certain information, or approve/reject provider listings. However, these steps do not guarantee the quality, legality, safety, availability, or outcome of any service.
5. No Guarantee of Provider Performance
Country of Pets may use terms such as “verified,” “trusted,” “approved,” “featured,” “top rated,” or similar language. These labels may reflect internal review, submitted documents, customer feedback, platform activity, subscription level, or other platform criteria.
These labels do not guarantee that a provider will meet your expectations, follow every legal requirement, avoid mistakes, or provide a specific outcome.
Pet owners are responsible for making their own decision before hiring, booking, paying, meeting, or trusting any provider with their pet.
6. User Eligibility
By using Country of Pets, you confirm that:
You are at least the age of majority in your province or territory, or you are using the website with consent from a parent or legal guardian.
You are legally able to enter into these Terms.
You will provide true, current, and complete information.
You will not use the platform for illegal, harmful, abusive, misleading, fraudulent, or unsafe purposes.
7. Customer Responsibilities
As a pet owner or customer, you agree to:
Provide accurate information about yourself, your pet, the service requested, your location, health concerns, behaviour issues, vaccination status, aggression history, allergies, medication, and any special instructions.
Disclose if your pet has bitten, attacked, injured, or shown aggressive behaviour toward people or animals.
Disclose any medical conditions, contagious illnesses, parasites, injuries, or special risks.
Confirm provider qualifications before accepting any service.
Follow provider instructions where reasonable and safe.
Ensure your pet is properly restrained, transported, supervised, and cared for before and after the service.
Pay any agreed fees directly or through the platform, depending on the payment method offered.
Country of Pets is not responsible for problems caused by incomplete, false, misleading, or withheld information from the customer.
8. Provider Responsibilities
As a provider, applicant, business, clinic, or service professional, you agree to:
Provide true, accurate, and complete information in your application, profile, listing, documents, pricing, availability, and communication.
Only offer services you are legally permitted, trained, licensed, insured, and qualified to provide.
Comply with all applicable federal, provincial, municipal, professional, licensing, veterinary, privacy, consumer protection, tax, employment, insurance, and business laws.
Maintain any required business license, professional license, certification, insurance, background check, training, permits, tax registration, and safety standards.
Immediately notify Country of Pets if any license, certification, insurance, authorization, approval, or legal permission expires, is suspended, is cancelled, or becomes inaccurate.
Not claim to be a veterinarian, veterinary clinic, animal hospital, registered veterinary technician, trainer, groomer, sitter, walker, boarding facility, or other professional unless you are legally allowed to make that claim.
Not provide regulated veterinary services unless properly licensed and legally authorized.
Treat animals humanely, safely, and respectfully.
Communicate honestly with customers and Country of Pets.
Take responsibility for your own services, actions, employees, contractors, subcontractors, facilities, vehicles, equipment, advice, negligence, errors, omissions, and customer disputes.
Country of Pets may remove, suspend, reject, downgrade, or investigate any provider at any time.
9. Provider Independent Contractor Status
Providers are independent from Country of Pets.
Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, partnership, franchise, agency, joint venture, or legal representative relationship between Country of Pets and any provider.
Providers are not employees of Country of Pets. Providers are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, payroll, licenses, workers, contractors, vehicles, facilities, safety procedures, equipment, pricing, service quality, legal compliance, and customer relationships.
10. Provider Applications and Verification
Country of Pets may request information or documents from providers, including business name, owner name, address, phone number, email, service category, certifications, insurance, identification, business license, references, background check information, photos, videos, portfolio, or other documents.
Submitting documents does not guarantee approval.
Country of Pets may approve, reject, pause, suspend, or remove providers at its sole discretion.
Country of Pets may charge an application, verification, listing, subscription, promotional, or administrative fee. Unless specifically stated otherwise, application and verification fees may be non-refundable because they cover review, processing, administration, and platform work.
11. Booking Requests
Country of Pets may allow customers to submit booking requests. A booking request is not automatically confirmed unless Country of Pets or the provider confirms it.
Availability, price, timing, location, provider selection, and service details may change.
Country of Pets may manually match customers with providers. Country of Pets may also send customer requests to one or more providers to check availability.
Country of Pets is not responsible if a provider is unavailable, late, cancels, refuses the service, changes pricing, or cannot complete the service.
12. Customer-Provider Communication
Country of Pets may provide email, phone, form-based communication, chat, messaging, or other tools to help customers and providers communicate.
Users must not use communication tools to harass, threaten, abuse, spam, mislead, discriminate, defraud, or bypass platform rules.
Country of Pets may monitor, review, store, or use communications where permitted by law for safety, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, support, legal compliance, and platform improvement.
For privacy and safety, customers and providers should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive personal information.
13. Payments
Country of Pets may sell products, collect provider application fees, subscription fees, promotional fees, verification fees, listing fees, booking deposits, commissions, or other fees.
Prices, taxes, fees, billing cycles, renewal terms, and refund rules may vary depending on the product or service.
Country of Pets will aim to display pricing clearly. Canadian businesses should avoid misleading pricing and hidden mandatory charges. The Competition Bureau treats drip pricing as a deceptive marketing issue when a price is advertised but unavoidable charges are added later.
All payments may be processed through third-party payment providers such as Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal, or other payment processors. Country of Pets is not responsible for payment processor errors, delays, chargebacks, account restrictions, or security issues outside our control.
14. Subscriptions
Provider subscription plans may include different benefits, such as listing visibility, lead access, profile features, badges, marketing placement, analytics, or promotional options.
Subscription benefits may change over time.
Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions may renew automatically according to the selected billing cycle.
Providers are responsible for cancelling before the renewal date if they do not want to continue.
Country of Pets may suspend or remove provider access if payment fails, a chargeback occurs, documents expire, legal concerns arise, or the provider violates these Terms.
15. Refunds and Cancellations
Refund rules depend on the product, service, fee, or subscription purchased.
Product refunds may follow the return policy shown on the website.
Provider application, verification, administrative, setup, subscription, marketing, or listing fees may be non-refundable unless Country of Pets clearly states otherwise.
Customer booking refunds, cancellations, no-shows, deposits, or service disputes may depend on the provider’s policy and the specific booking arrangement.
Country of Pets may choose to assist with disputes, but it is not required to provide refunds for independent provider services unless required by law or clearly agreed in writing.
16. Products Sold on Website
Country of Pets may sell pet products through its Shopify store.
Product descriptions, images, sizes, colours, ingredients, availability, shipping times, and prices may change.
Country of Pets tries to provide accurate product information but does not guarantee that all information is error-free.
Customers are responsible for checking whether a product is suitable for their pet. For health-related products, supplements, food, medication-related products, or special care products, customers should consult a licensed veterinarian before use.
17. Reviews, Ratings, Badges, and Testimonials
Country of Pets may allow customers to leave reviews, ratings, likes, comments, testimonials, photos, or feedback.
Users agree not to post fake, abusive, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, private, illegal, or harmful content.
Country of Pets may remove, edit, hide, reject, or moderate reviews or content at its discretion.
Reviews are opinions of users and do not represent guarantees by Country of Pets.
18. User Content
If you submit photos, videos, reviews, messages, provider descriptions, logos, documents, or other content, you confirm that you have the right to submit it.
You grant Country of Pets permission to use, display, store, reproduce, edit, publish, and share that content for platform operation, provider listings, marketing, safety, support, and promotional purposes, unless restricted by law or written agreement.

Customers and providers must treat animals humanely and follow applicable animal welfare laws.
Country of Pets may report suspected animal abuse, neglect, fraud, illegal activity, or safety threats to appropriate authorities where permitted or required by law.
Country of Pets may refuse service, remove listings, or suspend accounts where animal safety concerns exist.
21. Insurance
Providers are responsible for obtaining and maintaining appropriate insurance for their services, including commercial general liability, professional liability, animal care coverage, vehicle insurance, workers’ compensation, or any other required coverage.
Country of Pets does not guarantee that any provider has sufficient insurance, even if insurance documents are submitted or reviewed.
Customers should ask providers for proof of insurance where important.
22. Background Checks and Document Checks
Country of Pets may request background checks, ID, insurance, certifications, licenses, or other documents from providers.
However, Country of Pets does not guarantee that background checks or document reviews will identify every risk, past issue, false statement, expired document, or legal concern.
Customers remain responsible for their own judgment when choosing a provider.
23. Third-Party Services and Links
Country of Pets may link to third-party websites, apps, tools, payment processors, booking tools, map services, email tools, review platforms, social media, or provider websites.
Country of Pets does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their content, policies, fees, errors, security, availability, or actions.
Use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
